Let’s LovePastors… the Verb and the Noun!

Let’s LovePastors… the Verb and the Noun!

One of my favorite new friends is a pastor.

He’s not only an engaging, focused, and collaborative brother in Christ—he also leads a powerful and unifying ministry in town called Love Akron.

But it’s not just the name of a community-impacting organization. According to Executive Director (and Pastor) Kemp Boyd, it’s a call to action—a shift from noun to verb. Love Akron isn’t just what they’re called; it’s what they do. They’re committed to serving, building friendships, meeting needs, and seizing opportunities to truly make a difference.

They don’t just say they love Akron.
They love Akron.

Maybe you’re reading this because you Love Pastors.

Maybe you’re wondering how or why to care for ministry leaders.
Or maybe someone you know is connected to this new ministry.
Or maybe you just caught this blog after seeing a t-shirt shot out of a cannon somewhere (it happens!).

Love Pastors.

On one level, our vision is simple: find and unite people like you—those who already support, pray for, encourage, or deeply appreciate the pastors and ministry leaders in your life. We want to rally together to uplift as many pastors—and their families—as we can.

Because no pastor should stand alone.

Many of you are already doing the “verb” part of loving pastors.
You’re praying.
You’re thanking.
You’re serving.
You’re sharing how a sermon or moment of ministry impacted your faith.
You’re offering to help, or asking thoughtful questions about church, leadership, or how their family is doing.

We haven’t even officially launched this ministry yet—and I’ve already met so many people who are doing this. You love pastors in practical, meaningful ways.

And it’s beautiful.
Keep going!

But here’s where we’re going a step further.

We’re reverse-engineering this thing.
Yes, we want to keep the verb alive—but now we’re also making it a noun.

LovePastors is now a thing.
An organization.
A mission.
A growing network.
A passionate purpose.
A compelling invitation.
A movement with a relentless heart.

We’re building a “noun”—and we want to gather all the “verb-ers” out there: those who already love and support pastors in your families, churches, communities, networks, and denominations.

You’re not just a consumer. You’re not just a number on some list.
You’re invited to be part of something bigger:
A community that listens, learns, and loves the pastors God has placed in our lives.

LovePastors exists to create life-giving experiences and friendships for pastors.

If that speaks to you—if your heart says yes—then let’s go.

Join the team.
Read the blog.
Add “Pray for My Pastor” to your calendar—Google, iCal, Outlook, sticky note on the fridge, whatever works.
And let us know you’re with us.

Together, we can give life to the life-givers.

Let’s bring all our verbs into one contagious, encouraging, hope-filled noun.
